Sunday morning, fresh from a good night's sleep, Caroline came down with a stomach virus for the first time. She'd never thrown up before (other than baby spit-up) and she didn't like it too well. Sunday was a hard day for all of us. Then, on Monday we got to experience what it was like to be a family of three who ALL had a stomach virus. We holed up in our bed, Caroline in the middle, and only got up to get Pedialite/Sprite/Gatorade or because we were going to be sick. The first time we were all sick together---such family bonding!
On Wednesday Caroline wore her first skirt.
She's worn dresses a lot, but never a skirt and top. I thought she looked pretty cute!
Today was errand running day and it was going really great...until we went to Wal-Mart, which was the last stop on our long list of stops. As I was carrying Caroline in, I noticed her behind felt a little damp. Yes, she had a leaky diaper. Now, this wasn't the first time her diaper has ever leaked, but, this was the first time it's ever leaked away from home where I had to change her in a public bathroom. I made sure to really scrub her in the bath tonight!
Tonight was the first night we were really feeling back to normal so I celebrated by making homemade Macaroni and Cheese for the first time!
This isn't your normal, run of the mill Mac and Cheese. In the dish I included chopped organic cauliflower, onion, and I used whole wheat pasta. I know it's still not the healthiest side dish, but I felt better knowing it had extra fiber!
So, that's our week in a nutshell of "firsts". Hope y'all had a good one and enjoy the weekend! It's a long weekend! :)
